7th June 2024 : CALCA Annual Conference – Rochester Cathedral

Our annual AGM and day conference brings cathedral library, archives and collections workers together at Rochester Cathedral, the second oldest cathedral in England. We will discover the latest on the Textus Roffensis, see some of the highlights of the cathedral, and find out more about the Museum Accreditation scheme. This is also a great opportunity to network with others who manage libraries, archives and collections in cathedrals. CALCA members are encouraged to come to our short AGM to find out more about what is going on and feed in your views.

10.30 – Presentation by Dr Chris Monk on Textus Roffensis.

11.30 – Break

11.45 – Philip Claris on Museum Accreditation

12.15 – Short break 12.20 – Cathedral Graffiti – Jacob Scott

12.45 – AGM 13.00 – Lunch

14.00 – Gather in the Crypt – Tour of Library and Cathedral Gardens – Wellbeing programme.

16.15 – Committee Meeting – Library

17.30 – all are welcome to stay for Evensong

17th – 19th June 2025 : the 2025 Annual Conference and AGM will take place over three days at St. David’s Cathedral.

CALCA Conference 2023: Digital Dilemmas

  • 11.30am – Tour of Cathedral Library, newly reopened following a four year restoration project 
  • 1pm – Lunch (provided), with an opportunity to view the ‘Christopher Wren: Quest for Knowledge’ exhibition in the Cathedral Crypt
  • 2pm – ‘Records Management and Digital Preservation’, by Emily Naish, Head of Library and Archive, Salisbury Cathedral and Sarah Radford, Archivist, St Paul’s Cathedral
